Latest Updates from Our Project:

Unlocked Stretch Goals, New Stretch Goals, and Hexagram #1
about 5 years ago – Wed, May 01, 2019 at 09:53:26 PM

Your support of the Decks of Destiny project has added two more character sheet bookmarks to the box and dropped more cards in the Rumors & Treasures portion of the campaign. The box keeps growing heavier and heavier, and we still have over a month to go before this project comes to a close!

New Stretch Goals

Since we were down to only one revealed stretch goal -- another megahex sheet at $50,000 -- it was time to share more of the project's stretch goals, including:

  • A reprint of the Melee character pads at $52,500; if unlocked, we'll add three pads to the I Want All The Newness shipping carton and make the bundle available as an add-on item.
  •  Adversaries gets more cards at $55,000.
  •  Rumors & Treasures gets more cards at $57,500.
  • If we unlock the $60,000 stretch goal, we will include three black pearlized six-sided dice with silver ink in the I Want All The Newness shipping carton. These will be the same size and style as the Melee and Wizard dice, giving you another choice when it comes time to decide: Which dice will I use to destroy my opponent?

And those aren't the last of our stretch goals! We have a lot of new cards and additions to the games in the works, so let's crush these new stretch goals soon and focus on adding even more to the Decks of Destiny project.

Hexagram #1

There were requests that we make Hexagram #1 available as an add-on item, so we checked all of the numbers and . . . Hexagram #1 is now available as an $8 add-on item! To add the first issue of this zine to your rewards, please increase your pledge by $8. In BackerKit, after the campaign closes, you'll let us know exactly which add-on items you want included in your rewards package.

The BGG Stretch Goal

We now have 134 fans of The Fantasy Trip Legacy Edition at BGG, meaning that we only need another 16 of you to click the heart icon to unlock that BGG stretch goal. And while you're there, please jump in and join in these two discussions at the site:

Your commenting and discussion in these threads will help raise awareness of the game, and we absolutely want to bring more players and GMs into The Fantasy Trip so that we can continue to expand our reach. More players = more potential backers = unlocking stretch goals!

And we know you want to unlock those stretch goals, right?

Thanks!

Unlocked Stretch Goals = New Add-Ons!
about 5 years ago – Tue, Apr 30, 2019 at 11:48:57 PM

You're on fire today! So far today, you've unlocked a seventh sheet of megahex tiles, more cards for the Rumors & Treasures part of Decks of Destiny, as well as two new items for the I Want All The Newness reward level that are also being offered as add-on items.

  • Dice. Three green dice with silver ink, the same size and style as the Melee and Wizard dice. These are automatically included in the I Want All The Newness and Everything reward levels . . . and you may add another three dice for $3!
  • Pocket Folder. Featuring the Decks of Destiny cover art by Brandon Moore, this new 9-inch by 12-inch pocket folder is in the I Want All The Newness and Everything reward levels as well as offered as a $3 add-on item. We know that some of you (guilty!) can always use another folder or two.

In other news, the BGG stretch goal is currently at 99 fans of the game; we need another 51 to unlock that stretch goal and add a hex grid journal to the Adversaries part of Decks of Destiny. Visit BGG now and become a fan of The Fantasy Trip Legacy Edition!

Thanks for the support, gang! Now let's get back to sharing the project with all of our friends and keep unlocking those stretch goals!!!

Two More Stretch Goals Unlocked, New $40,000 Stretch Goal, and How to Become a Fan of The Fantasy Trip Legacy Edition at BGG
about 5 years ago – Tue, Apr 30, 2019 at 02:05:58 AM

Two more stretch goals are down! Your support has added more cards to the Decks of Destiny box set, specifically to the Rumors & Treasures and the Adversaries parts of the project. Just so we're clear, this means that the $60 reward level and higher have all been improved by these unlocks; and if you've selected the Rumors & Treasures and Adversaries add-ons, both of those were also affected by the unlocked stretch goals. (Those add-ons are each an identical copy of what is packed inside the Decks of Destiny box.)

New $40,000 Stretch Goal

If we pass $40,000 before the campaign comes to an end, we'll include a new 9-inch by 12-inch pocket folder featuring the Decks of Destiny cover art inside the I Want All The Newness shipping carton. As before, if unlocked, we'll also make this folder available as an add-on item for those of you who want extras of the design. The folder will include the "random stocking" tables from In the Labyrinth.

BGG Stretch Goal

If we can gain 150 fans of The Fantasy Trip Legacy Edition at BGG before this project comes to a close, then we will include a new journal featuring the Melee cover artwork in the Adversaries part of the Decks of Destiny box. To become a fan, click on the heart icon on the BGG page; see the below image for help on finding that heart icon.

Thanks for joining in the project early, everyone, and please be sure to share the Decks of Destiny campaign with your favorite blogs and forums. We have stretch goals to unlock, and that means it is time to bring in more supporters and make the box better for us all!

And quickly. In fact, you've already knocked down the first stretch goal and added some cards. We have lots of little goals this time, close together, to enhance different parts of the package. As always, thank you for your support!

Today I worked with Ben and Phil on the Creature cards. We are adding a color index to each card, to make it possible to quickly sort them by habitats - so if you want swamp creatures, you pull out the ones with a purple index along one edge, and there you are. Some creatures have up to four habitats, so they have four color bars. And some (such as horses) occur wherever humanoids are found. I can either give those a special category, or all eight color bars. Which would be better?  I lean toward the former if there's room. -SJ
