Latest Updates from Our Project:

Metal Dragon D6 and Creature Card Storage Box
almost 5 years ago – Thu, Jul 18, 2019 at 01:52:20 AM

Great news, gang! We have two BackerKit stretch goal updates.

  • We've reviewed the numbers on the metal die stretch goal and enough overall dice have been ordered that we can revise the goal slightly (240 instead of 250); the new 25mm metal dragon six-sided die is now officially unlocked! Each copy of I Want All The Newness includes the new metal dragon die and we've opened it up as an add-on item in BackerKit.
  • The 95% of surveys complete by July 29th goal is close enough to unlocked that we're saying: Success! We've now unlocked the creature card storage box for the I Want All The Newness reward and there is another new add-on: One of each of the four storage boxes for $20. If you need extra storage boxes, or if you're not receiving I Want All The Newness and still want these boxes, the add-on is now available in BackerKit.

One last bit of news for today: The project is officially at print and we have locked down quantities in BackerKit. If there are any add-ons that you need extras of, now is the time to grab them since some of them may run out before we close BackerKit. We had to lock the numbers so that we can proceed with our manufacturing decisions.

As always, please let us know if you have any questions!

Decks of Destiny Manufacturing Update
almost 5 years ago – Tue, Jul 16, 2019 at 11:12:15 PM

Today, our team sends the files to GPI and the manufacturing stage begins. After our premortem review last week, Ben and Susan made all of the necessary corrections/updates to the many, many components and everything is now ready for print. What comes next? A lot.

  • First up, the factory will review all of the files and create jpg proofs for everything. Sabrina will then review and approve each jpg; this is our last chance to catch any errors before film is produced.
  • In six or seven weeks, we will see a physical tooling sample of the Decks of Destiny project. With a campaign of this size, it is very likely that the components will come in at different times and this stage may take up to two months. There are a lot of components. If we uncover problems at this step, there could be delays as errors are fixed.
  • Once we have approved the tooling samples, the project goes into final manufacturing and assembly at the factory. We will see production samples before the project ships, which is another stage in the process where we have the chance to correct any issues. Errors at this stage can cause serious delays; if all goes well, the production samples look perfect and we do not want to change anything.
  • After this point, the project goes into the shipping and fulfillment process. A month across the ocean/to the warehouse. And then weeks of packing and mailing packages.

With all that said, we're currently slightly ahead of schedule on Decks of Destiny. This is great, because we can always use some extra time in case something goes wrong between now and dropping the box in your hands.

BackerKit Stretch Goals

We now have less than two weeks to tackle the remaining BackerKit stretch goals. We're at 91% of the surveys completed; we need to get to 95% by July 29th, so please complete your survey today!

For the other stretch goals, we have 243 of the 250 backers of the 25mm metal wizard die . . . so close to unlocking that dragon die! Megahexes stand at 113 of the 250 needed. The dice bag, which requires 250 backers across all available designs to unlock the custom TFT bag, is at 166.

With the metal die goal so very, very close to falling, today is a great day to complete your survey and add the 25mm wizard metal die to your rewards!

Premortem Report and Stretch Goal Update
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Jul 12, 2019 at 09:12:58 PM

Yesterday, we held our premortem meeting  for the Decks of Destiny and reviewed all of the project's many, many components. We found more items to fix, so now Ben, Sabrina, and Susan are verifying that all of the corrections have been made before we submit the files to the factory next week.

As a part of our checks, we noticed that an add-on item was missing from BackerKit: If you wanted extras of the character sheet bookmarks, they are now listed on BackerKit. Sorry about that!

BackerKit Stretch Goal Update

We have four ongoing BackerKit stretch goals that need to be met before the end of the month.

  • We're still holding at 89% of the surveys completed. We need to reach 95% by July 29th if we're going to unlock that final storage box.
  • We now have 234 of the required 250 "loves" of the 25mm metal wizard die. If we can hit 250 before the close of the month, a new 25mm metal dragon die will be added to the I Want All The Newness reward level and opened up as an add-on item.
  • So far, 108 backers love the megahex tiles.
  • 168 backers love the various dice bags. Once we hit 250 total "loves" on the listed dice bags, we will unlock a TFT dice bag as an add-on item and include it in the I Want All The Newness reward level.

We have less than three weeks to go to unlock these stretch goals, so please jump in and complete your survey today!

Project Update and Stretch Goal Status Report
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Jul 12, 2019 at 02:30:20 AM

Today, our team sits down for the final review of the Decks of Destiny project. Next week, if all goes as planned, we will submit the final files to the factory and start the tooling stage. That puts tooling samples at our office in late August, manufacturing in October/November, and shipment from the factory in December for a January delivery at our fulfillment warehouse. We're still on schedule!

BackerKit Stretch Goals

Our active goals are currently:

  • 89% of surveys have been completed. We need to reach 95% by July 29 to unlock the creature-sized storage box, so please complete your surveys! We can make this happen.
  • 232 of you love the 25mm metal wizard six-sided die, leaving us only 18 backers from unlocking the 25mm metal dragon die. We're very, very close to unlocking this stretch goal!
  • 104 backers love the megahex tiles. If you've ever said "I wish I had more of the Legacy Edition megahex tiles," then now is your chance to add this item to your rewards package and avoid regret in the future. Add extra megahex tiles to your rewards to skip saying "I wish I had more of the Decks of Destiny megahex tiles" next spring!
  • 165 total dice bags have been loved so far, putting us closer to the goal of 250 which, if met, unlocks the TFT dice bag.

We need to reach all goals by July 29th, gang, so please get out there and direct all of your friends to the Decks of Destiny preorder page! Remember, preorders for these items helps put us closer to unlocking the metal dragon die, extra megahex sheet, and the new dice bag, so more preorders = goodness!!!

Project Premortem: Thursday!
almost 5 years ago – Tue, Jul 09, 2019 at 10:33:25 PM

We're wrapping up the final checks for the Decks of Destiny project and everything is set for our premortem meeting on Thursday. The premortem checks are the last time that we, as a team at the office, review a new title before it is sent to the factory to start the manufacturing stage.

At the moment, we plan to send Decks of Destiny to the factory next week. We'll post an update once we have verified the files are complete and that the project is officially at print.

BackerKit Update: We're now at 88% of the surveys complete. If you have not yet handled your survey, please take care of that within the next week or so. Thanks!
